Story
Starting on 3rd September, I am embarking on the adventure of a lifetime and racing on Leg 1/8 of the Clipper Round the World Race from Portsmouth Harbour, UK to Punta del Este in Uruguay.
Every day will provide new challenges and the thrills of ocean racing. I will travel through the Doldrums, and across the equator, alongside a crew of 20, in cramped conditions over 6 weeks at sea. We will sail non-stop, competing against 10 identical 70ft vessels using a watch system of 6hrs on/off in daylight and 4hrs on/off overnight.
Track our progress once the race has started on 3rd September 2023.
Along the way our crew (and the crews of all our competitors) will be fundraising for UNICEF.
UNICEF ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. In 190 countries and territories, UNICEF works to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
Every donation will help to build a better world for every child.
