Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.
In September I will be 77. I am not interested in gifts any more but want to do something that will benefit others…so here goes.
During September I want to challenge myself to walk 7 Kms around 7 parks, keeping me active and celebrating the green public spaces around us, in Birmingham and around the country where my family live. I hope to be accompanied by friends and family whilst walking to raise awareness of BEAT and the work they do.
I am a Granny and like many others have seen the affect ED has had on my granddaughters and their families. I know how much support is needed and want to do my utmost to raise both awareness and funds for BEAT
As it is a challenge I thought I might ask those of you who can and might want to sponsor me and/or join me on a walk (you' don't have do all 7Kms). All funds will go directly to BEAT and information about them is below.
I will post regular updates on social media so you know where I have been and how it’s going.
Thank you so much in advance I really appreciate your help and support.
BEAT is the UK's eating disorder charity that supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.
These serious mental illnesses include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. 1.25 million people in the UK have a diagnosed eating disorder. They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and up to one in four sufferers are male. Eating disorders cost the UK's economy £16.8 billion each year.
