Story
When I saw that Queenscourt Hospice were arranging a fundraiser that involved learning to dance I knew I had to be involved. I am passionate about the Strictly Come Dancing television show.
Having worked as a GP practice manager for the last 16 years, I have worked closely with Queenscourt community nurses who have supported our patients, their families and us as a team to ensure an integrated approach to end of life care.
On a personal level I have seen the support given to friends who have sadly had loved ones who have suffered and died. The care help and support at every level, arranging weddings, advice about finances, pensions, social care, liaising with other agencies, helping to support the whole family to list a few of the amazing attributes to Queenscourt team.
I know a few of the staff at Queenscourt and am aware of the need for fundraising to continue the good work and keep the hospice open. My friends who work there are part of an amazing team
Queenscourt Hospice is a local charity that provides support for the people of West Lancashire, Southport and Formby.
Queenscourt provides access to Specialist Palliative Care either at home (including care homes), hospital or in Queenscourt via the Inpatient Unit or as an Outpatient. Queenscourt at Home supports patients, and those important to them, to be cared for in their own home, if that is their preference.
Queenscourt has an holistic approach to Palliative Care to ensure patients have their physical, psychological, spiritual and social care needs assessed, and to provide access to multi-professional Health Care Team for specialist support.
