Story

This June, I am taking on a challenge to mark the 80th Anniversary of D-Day.

I'm walking and remembering "Mamma B", who we lost a few months ago at the age of 100. She was a stalwart of WW2 having served in the Womens Land Army in Argyll and Loch Lomond, while my dad served overseas in the RAMC. Typical of mum's generation, she was a real trooper!

All donations will go towards the care and support of Veterans at Erskine. Erskine care for nearly 800 residents each year; their care homes provide Veterans with the companionship of like-minded people. Erskine not only care for their Veterans – we care about them and my mother was a firm supporter. Now it's my turn to seize the baton and do my bit for our amazing veterans

When I listened to the stories recounted of the D-Day landings, walking 80 miles seems absolutely no hardship. I'm loving the countryside and the beach, especially stopping to chat to people . . . and dogs along the way!!

I really do appreciate your encouragement and your support. Thank you.
