Meet Devon, my cousin’s brave little boy who came into this world much too early. His premature birth led to many difficult weeks on oxygen, which caused a severe eye condition known as ROP. In a matter of days, it progressed to stage 5, detaching his retinas and leaving him blind.

Despite living in darkness, Devon’s spirit shines brightly. He refuses to let his blindness define him, and his infectious smile lights up the lives of everyone he meets.

Inspired by Devon’s strength, my brother, cousins, and I are running the London Landmark Half Marathon to raise funds for guide dogs. As Devon grows, a guide dog will be essential in helping him navigate the world with confidence and independence.
