Taking a Stand in the Ring
This March 16th, I’m not just stepping into the boxing ring to face an opponent; I’m fighting for a cause deeply personal to me – the battle against cancer. Each punch and every moment of effort is dedicated to Cancer Research UK.
Why I Fight? 2 reasons:
1) A Personal Encounter
Recently, a close family member faced a harrowing health scare that hinted at cancer. The possibility of losing someone so dear brought an overwhelming sense of vulnerability and fear. Thankfully, it turned out to be a false alarm, but the emotional turmoil it stirred was a stark reminder of life’s fragility. It underscored the critical importance of the work done by Cancer Research UK. Their relentless pursuit of research, prevention, and education is a beacon of hope for us all. I am committed to raising £500 to support this vital cause and I urge you to join me in this effort.
2) A Father’s Promise
As a father, protecting my children and teaching them resilience against life’s adversities is paramount. This fight symbolises the lessons I want to instill in them: the value of courage, the strength found in unity, and the importance of standing up for what matters.
Facing the Challenge Head-On:
A few people have voiced their concerns. "Sam what if you lose?" they ask.
To such questions I echo the sentiment of DJ Khaled: “All I do is win.” This fight is about the collective victory we can achieve against cancer. Every donation no matter how big or small is a win!
