Story
I’m running the London Marathon 2025 for my dad, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer, this is deeply personal and meaningful to me. My dad has always been my hero, showing immense strength, resilience, and love throughout his life. When he received his diagnosis, it was a shock to all of us, but he faced it with the same courage and determination that he has shown in every other challenge.
Participating in this marathon is my way of honoring his battle and showing support. Every mile I run is a tribute to his strength and a reminder that he is not fighting alone. It’s also a way to raise awareness about all cancers and contribute to the ongoing research that are crucial for patients and their families.
By running this marathon, I hope to inspire others to join the fight against cancer and to remind everyone of the importance of love, family, and resilience in the face of adversity. This run is not just for my dad, but for all those affected by cancer, and together, we can make a difference.
Why World Cancer Research Fund?
Every day around 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’. Over 420 of these cases could have been prevented, that’s a staggering 155,000 people every year. World Cancer Research Fund, are passionate about reducing this number.
As part of an international network of charities, they’ve been funding life-saving research, influencing global health policy and informing the public since 1982.
While society continues to search for a cure, their prevention and survival work helps people to live longer, healthier, and happier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer. The money I'm raising plays a huge part in keeping this going.
