Story
I'm part of a team with three of my colleagues taking on "Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road" all in the name of a really deserving charity - Action For Medical Research for Children.
Action Medical Research have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people. You can read more about them and the amazing work they do here: https://action.org.uk/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxKm6-afBhAMVappaBR1nlwJHEAAYAiAAEgLZGvD_BwE.
On the 13 July, as the sun rises over the beautiful lake District, we will be setting off, as a team of four, on an off road challenge comprising a grueling 23 miles off road mountain bike ride in the lakes, followed immediately by a quick paced hike up to the top of Old Man Coniston (2362ft of climbing and the same knee trembling descent) followed by a 2 mile kayak race on Lake Coniston. It is going to be a loooong, hard day.
By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.
Please help me get through it and give me the motivation I need and sponsor me; a penny or a pound - it all helps!
Thank you so much for your support.
Sam
