Story
This year we should be celebrating my beautiful mums 70th birthday, but sadly we lost her 18 years ago to ovarian cancer.
She spent some time in St.Lukes Hospice and they were truly amazing. My mum made some lovely friends at St.Lukes and sometimes forgot that she was infact a patient often making a cuppa for friends and relaives offering them a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. She loved taking full advantage of the holistic and beauty treatments the volunteers offered within the hospice. This gave her a little bit of normality as well as providing a distraction on her not so good Days.
I wanted to mark this year with something special that not only challenges myself but raises money for an amazing cause.
St Luke's helps 6,000 affected by terminal illness ever year. Only 25% of their income comes from the NHS, meaning they rely on donations to continue offering their exceptional standards of care.
I'm supporting this amazing charity by abseiling down the side of the Owen Building. Please show your support by sponsoring me.
