Story
On 18th June 2023 I'll be taking part in IRONMAN Austria, consisting of:
Swim 3.8km Bike 180.2km Run 42.2km
I'm raising money for Asto Clinics - a charity close to my family and I which provides OCD Treatment Programmes, set up by my Dad after overcoming severe OCD himself in 2018.
I'm looking to raise £2,000, which will provide complete therapy programmes for two people.
Some statistics
Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the UK have a mental health problem.
Only 31% of individuals in the UK with a mental health problem are in treatment.
750,000 people are thought to be living with severe, life impacting OCD in the UK.
Asto Clinics Charity
Asto exists to help people get the treatment and support they need to regain control of their life - through their OCD Treatment Programmes.
The programme consists of 12 sessions over 12 weeks, with each session lasting for 2 hours. Each of the sessions is facilitated by both an experienced consultant clinical psychologist and a former OCD sufferer.
33 people have now attended Asto's Group Therapy Programmes since June 22, with some extremely encouraging results - but they need to raise funds to continue providing more treatment programmes.
With the current pressure on the NHS, together with the awareness of mental health issues, there has never been a better time for people to support their venture.
