Story
Hello,
Sam here, and I am an ambassador for ADHD UK.
As someone with ADHD, I have been passionate about raising awareness of the condition since I was diagnosed with it last year and discovering ADHD UK.
Back in June, I took part in my first charity fundraiser, where I ran the Leeds 10k and managed to complete the run in 1 hour and 11 minutes.
I managed to beat my target of £250 right at the last minute, raising £255 in total, which I feel very proud of because it really did look like I was not going to meet my target!
But with a stroke of luck, I managed to bypass it by just a margin.
Nevertheless, this is only the beginning and looking back, it is a great start!
That is why I am excited to be running another 10k with Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All once again this September.
This time, I will be running in Sheffield, which is a fantastic city to run around and has a great cultural scene, so it is exciting to get the chance to run around and pass by some familiar spots dotted around the city.
ADHD UK are dedicated to supporting people with ADHD like me and many others.
They want to ensure that information on the condition is as accessible as possible for both people with ADHD and their friends and family, that they can raise awareness with compassion and empathy, as well as advocate for people in the political and social spheres.
They also want to ensure that we get the best support we need at work and in employment, fighting for fairer NHS & Education resources and challenging employers to put in adjustments that work and encourage ADHD inclusivity.
By doing so, we can break the stigma around ADHD and allow people with the condition to thrive in their own unique way.
By donating, you would be supporting ADHD UK in achieving these goals and helping them make a step forward to better inclusivity.
Thanks for reading, and sending love to you all,
Sam :)
