TWO great European cities, TWO Half Marathons, ONE great cause

In order to support the work of Amani we'll be heading to beautiful Prague for the half marathon on April 5th 2025. Then, as soon as the race is over, it's off to the train station for the four hour ride to Berlin where we will run another half marathon the very next morning!

We're expecting it to be a testing challenge! The runners for both runs are: Jon Gallagher, Si Pearce, Becky Pearce and Tim Yearsley. In addition Sam Pretlove, Sarah Macmillan, Tom Russell and Pia Schueller will be joining us for one of the races.

Amani was established in 2001 by Tanzanians who were concerned about the growing number of street children due to the HIV-AIDS epidemic. It started in a humble three-room, rented home. Today, Amani is considered one of the leading organizations caring for street children in East Africa.

Amani now has three bases - in Moshi, Arusha and Singida. They provide outreach to children living on the streets, building trust and encouraging children to come to the safety of the centres. They provide the children with warmth, shelter, good food , education, fun and love. They allow children to be children, promoting transformation in young lives. Where possible, with the input of Amani's team of social workers, they support children to be reunited with family members and provide ongoing support and monitoring.
