Story
On 7th September, I’ll be setting off on the saddle from Land’s End (the most southerly point of the UK) and cycling 980 miles with 52,000 feet of elevation (twice of Everest) over 9 days to John O’Groats (the most northerly point of the UK).
Sounds savage, right? It probably will be, but it’s all for a worthy cause; the Prince’s Trust. If you’re reading this page to support me, then you’re most likely from a privileged background - many young people aren’t so fortunate.
The Prince’s Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter what their background or the challenges they are facing. They help those from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
The Prince’s Trust provide a number of support related to employment, education, mental health and wellbeing (among others) and are committed to supporting young people from diverse backgrounds, including from disadvantaged backgrounds, ethnic minorities and those with disabilities.
Over 75% of young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. Since 1993, the charity has helped over 90,000 young people have started their own business. That’s an average of 3,000 new entrepreneurs a year. The Prince’s Trust have even supported the likes of Idris Elba, The Stereophonics and magician Dynamo.
Thanks for reading this far. And if you can, please donate - any donation big or small makes a huge difference to the lives of young people.
- £10 could fund a call to the charity helpline, enabling a vulnerable young person to gain the critical advice they need.
- £40 could provide a young person in poverty with interview clothes to help them on their journey to securing stable employment.
Thank you for your support.
