On the 3rd January I will be 100 years old and I am looking forward to celebrating this auspicious occasion with my family and friends.

I have had a wonderful life and would not change anything although this year has been particularly hard as I lost my wife, Helen, who I shared my life with for almost 70 years. Also, my adorable great grandson was tragically diagnosed with Tay Sachs disease.

I have therefore decided to try and raise money for the CATS foundation, a charity which raises awareness and provides support for families affected by this cruel disease.

So if you are thinking of buying me a birthday present, I would love you to donate (any amount) to the CATS foundation and help me achieve my goal of £1,000.
