Story
I'm taking part in the Great North Run to support families facing dementia because my Mum has Alzheimers disease and vascular dementia. I am her full-time carer and witness her daily challenges and the emotional impact it has on her, myself and my family first-hand.
I'm running to make a difference. I'm totally pushing myself and out of my comfort zone. Please spare any money to help me get to the finish line and support a fabulous charity.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, provide life-changing care to families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people caring for them so they have the strength to cope with the bad days, and the energy to enjoy the good days. They have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems, helping families take back control when they are struggling.
