Story
I am very excited to announce my Eagle Scout project which will occur the weekend of October 5 & 6. The Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) of Suffolk County in Boston (Children's Advocacy Center of Suffolk County (suffolkcac.org) will receive improvements to its facility by members of my Scout Troop 355, Newton, MA. The CAC works with families and children that are going through difficult times (abuse, domestic issues, etc.). Our plan will be installing bookcases, shelves, reading/professional development materials, and other furnishings to improve the functionality and comfort of the facility for its patients and staff.
The CAC does not have the financial ability to purchase furniture, professional training guides, children's books, and accessories that are very much needed. Thus, the nature of this Project requires us to kindly ask for your donations
Below is a writeup from the CAC on their mission and what vital services they provide to our community.
The CAC is the frontline responder to concerns of child sexual abuse, serious physical abuse and commercial sexual exploitation of children under age 18.
With your help, we provide comprehensive assessment, support, advocacy, and evidence-based interventions to promote healing, justice, and wellbeing for children exposed to violence and their families. We believe it takes a community to ensure that all children are provided safety and given the opportunity to thrive. By donating today, you are a part of that community.
