Fundraising for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
What do you in do when someone you admire greatly calls to say they’ve had the life changing news their partner has MND? You get campaigning and fundraising. The government promised £50m to find research but it hasn’t been forthcoming, leaving thousands bereft of hope.
As Doddie Weir said, MND isn’t incurable it’s underfunded. Breakthroughs are tantalising close. In the absence of government action, and with former Vodafone colleagues, I’m fundraising by doing Doddie Aid this month. Together we hope to cover 500 miles.
What is Doddie Aid?
Doddie's story has transcended the rugby world. To fearlessly face down his diagnosis and improve the research landscape for people living with MND is mind-blowing. And to have done it with a smile never far from his lips, and humour punctuating every call to action, Doddie is an inspiration. Doddie Aid is a way for us all to do our little bit to help him and the Foundation in the quest to find better treatments for MND.
