Story

After not running for several years, tearing my patellar tendon, and generally getting older, I have decided to run (well hopefully run) a marathon!

Completing a marathon has always been on my bucket list, but thought age and injuries had ruled it out. It wasn't until a friend (thanks Dean French) gave me some inspirational words which basically amounted to "why can't you" and "just do it" which spurred me on to sign up.

With that, through my work, myself and four other team members of Primary Eyecare are going to take part in the 2024 London Marathon, raising money for our partner charity, SeeAbility.

SeeAbility is a charity whose invaluable work aims to enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism, by offering support in helping them to find employment, form friendships and enjoy new experiences and hobbies.

It's a great cause, and all your donations will be much appreciated...........plus the more that is raised, the more pressure there will be on me to actually complete it, so pile on the pressure and sponsorship please :)

About the campaign

SeeAbility will have over 40 incredible fundraisers taking part in the iconic London Marathon in 2024. We will be cheering our participants along every step of the way as they help the people we support to Live, Love, Thrive and Belong

About the charity

SeeAbility provides ambitious social care for people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. We encourage them to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society - and they in turn challenge us all to think about what’s possible, and to rethink disability.
