Story
As most of you looking at this page will know, I love running and don't need any reason to get out and log some miles. However, this is the first and last time I'll ever ask for running sponsorship, to take on the London Marathon on 19th April 2024!
Why Coram?
In 2022, Coram supported my family to adopt an amazing daughter. She's been with us for almost two years and it has been an incredible journey.
The process was long and difficult but Coram's team helped us through the process over multiple years. Just as importantly, they have been incredible at supporting us to become a family once the formal adoption process was finished, by giving us training, guidance and networks of other adoptive families to connect with.
The people we've met and worked with at Coram have been really dedicated and passionate about helping to get the best for children who have had a really tough start in life. We have one personal experience of their work but they support hundreds of families each year, so I think it is a really worthwhile to support them financially.
The goal
I last ran a marathon in 2015 in 3:19, back when I got a solid 9 hours sleep a night and didn't have to pretend that soft play was a viable form of cross-training. I'm aiming to go under this time (thanks to some super-shoes and a legit training plan), but by how much is probably dependent on my glass ankles.
