Story
Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E.) is a long-term (chronic), fluctuating, neurological disease that causes symptoms affecting many body systems, more commonly the nervous and immune systems. M.E. affects an estimated 250,000 people in the UK, and around 17 million people worldwide. M.E. Is a cruel, complex and little understood condition.
In December 2021, our daughter, who was 14 at the time, contracted a virus. We would never have believed that what we presumed to be a simple virus, would leave her almost entirely house-bound. Our daughter never recovered from the virus to date.
Last year, I found “Smile for ME”. A small charity who send gifts to those affected by ME (both sufferers and carers).
They sent our daughter a gift box and it bought such joy. Just recently I was also nominated by a friend to receive a Smile parcel. It was such a wonderful surprise and lifted my spirits.
This small gesture made such a huge difference. Since then, I have jointly led a project and sold almost 300 pin badges which were designed by a friend specifically by Smile for ME. This generated £100’s pounds for Smile for ME.
I would be most grateful if you could find it in your heart to support this worthy cause. ME has truly devastated our family. Please support us to raise funds which will enable Smile for ME to keep sending gifts which bring joy to those affected.
Best wishes
