Guess who's doing the GNR24?!
Me 😬
#NotARunner
I will be (attempting) to run the GNR this year to help raise some vital funds for The Sick Children's Trust.
For those who don't know our story, unfortunately in November 2023 our little 7 week old boy, Luca, contracted Bronchiolitis and RSV. Luca got very sick, very quick and needed to be intubated in the PICU at the RVI.
That's when The Sick Children's Trust stepped in. They provided us with a "Home from Home" space at Crawford house, meaning we had a living space a 3 minute walk from the ward! We were in so much of a state of shock and panic that we didn't even think about were we would stay or traveling too and from the hospital. So this took a massive weight off our shoulders meaning we could put all our focus into Luca.
Luca spent a week in the hospital. Because of The Sick Children's Trust we were able to be by Luca's side the whole time.
It costs The Sick Children's Trust £40 a night to house a family. I would love to raise as much money as possible to say thank you, and to help anyone else who might unfortunately find themselves in this situation. We will be forever grateful to The Sick Children's Trust, the staff at PICU, paediatric A&E at NSECH and the Nectar team at the NE Ambulance service ♥️
Wish me luck 🍀😅
