Story
My family have adopted cats from the TVAW since I was young, and every one has held a very special place in my heart. Once in my own home, I adopted my own two girls with my boyfriend, Nathan, and they are adored. I knew then that the TVAW is a very special charity who always gives the best care to the cats in their charge and always make sure that they find the right homes. However last August, when Zelda appeared in our garden, I got to know how special they really are. When we found Zelda, she was alone with no registered owners, starving, covered in fleas, and very anaemic which left her with no energy and unable to walk properly. We were able to foster her for the TVAW, and with their help and that of the vet we could help her recover. For a while it looked like there may not be a happy ending for Zelda, but we are very happy to say that she has only continued to get stronger and has blossomed into a beautiful and loving cat that we officially adopted last November.
Without the TVAW, Zelda and the many cats out there like her would not be able to thrive as they do. They help cats and kittens who have been handed in, abandoned, abused, or dumped, and since the pandemic and cost of living crisis there has been a massive increase in the amount of cats needing care and rehoming, and the TVAW with it's purely volunteer-based team has an extensive waiting list of cats who desperately need help.
