Story
This is where I’ll come in my final days, which hopefully will be in years to come given my type of secondary breast cancer. Ashgate Hospice has the most wonderful care service supporting individuals and their wider families through the unthinkable. I have lost some friends made this year and they have been cared for at this Hospice.
Ashgate Hospice isn’t just a service for end of life but also provides therapeutic and creative activities, a space for people living with cancer to not feel alone. I am planning to attend some of these now that I have medically retired.
I am doing this walk because I want to raise some money for such an important cause ❤️ I will be enthused by the spirit of many people walking this walk in memory and support of loved ones with cancer.
Every single penny your raise goes towards the compassionate care and support we provide to our patients and the people important to them. For example:
£500 could pay towards specialist 24/7 round-the-clock care for a patient on our Inpatient Unit.
£150 could pay towards a home visit from our physiotherapists to help improve patients quality of life by alleviating pain, discomfort and immobility.
£80 could pay towards a session with an Ashgate complementary therapist to help to restore patient’s energy levels and reduce stress levels and anxiety.
£50 could pay towards an art therapy session and materials for a child to receive emotional support and counselling through a bereavement.
Come together to sparkle in support of Ashgate Hospice on Saturday 28 June 2025. Help raise money to help the hospice continue providing specialist care to patients and those important to them.
Every penny raised will help us to make a real difference to the lives of families across North Derbyshire.
