Story
Thank you for visiting my page. I’m proud to be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 and raising important funds and awareness for Anaphylaxis UK, a charity of great importance to me.
I had the the pleasure of running the London Marathon for a charity this year and what a great experience it was and a very inspiring day to see so many people running for their chosen charities.
I have chosen to run the Half Marathon for this charity on behalf of my grandson Stanley, and for all those with severe allergies. Stanley has a tree nut allergy and despite having his EpiPens I appreciate how difficult and dependent anyone with an allergy is as its not always possible for those with the allergy to have the control to keep themselves safe. I hope to raise as much as possible to enable this charity to continue the amazing work they do.
In the UK, 1-2% of adults and 5-8% of children have a food allergy; this equates to nearly 3 million people. Hospital admissions due to allergies and anaphylaxis in England have nearly doubled in the last twenty years, and 20% of serious allergic reactions to food happen whilst a child is at school.
Anaphylaxis UK is the only UK-wide charity operating solely for the growing numbers of people at risk of serious allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. For 30 years, they have been striving for a brighter and safer future for everyone living with a serious allergy by providing trusted and scientifically-based resources and training to individuals and families, education settings, businesses, and healthcare professionals.
Thank you for supporting my journey and the vital work of Anaphylaxis UK.
