Story
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.
Our Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.
We help over 6,000 families each year and now, more than ever, we need your support. Thank you.
In April 2019 our first child was born at Royal Bolton hospital, our beautiful daughter Mabel. Due to unforeseen circumstances in the build up to my wife having a c-section our unborn daughter began to loose blood and more importantly her oxygen supply. This resulted in her being born unresponsive and rushed to an intensive care unit, some major organs including her brain, kidneys, liver and spleen and taken hits and she was incredibly poorly. After three days at Royal Bolton hospital Mabel was transferred to St Mary’s hospital in Manchester where she stayed for seven long weeks.
This is where me and my wife benefitted from the amazing Ronald Mcdonald house charity. They provided us with a room in their house right next to the hospital so we could be with our daughter as much as possible and within minutes if required.
It costs Ronald Mcdonald house charities £25 to room one family for one night and with 14 houses across the uk they require an incredible amount of funding to keep them running.
So on the 6th may 2023 myself, Katie Nowak, Kerry Nixon, Kimberley Brown, Damon Brown, Jordan Minshall and Nathan Jones will be doing a tandem skydive from 15,000ft in order to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. Any donations if you are in a position to do so would be massively appreciated.
Thanks for your support
