Story
In 2018 a six weeks old boy suddenly stopped breathing while on a weekend break in the Lake District.
As Isaacs parents administered CPR, paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service and a paramedic and doctor team from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) arrived within minutes.
Isaac was administered oxygen by the critical care team before being airlifted to the paediatric intensive care unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where it was revealed that Isaac was suffering from bronchiolitis.
Without the GNAAS, Isaac would have not been so fortunate with no other emergency services able to attend in the time needed to administer the critical care needed.
This is just one story. A story about an amazing young boy. My Nephew.
This year myself and Ed will be attempting a Bike - Kayak - Hike challenge taking me from Sunderland to the top of Hellvelyn in under 16 Hours:

All for an amazing cause
The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) rescues hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year throughout the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care teams deliver life-saving treatments at the scene of the incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city Centre.
The charity responded to 1,640 call outs last year alone, via their helicopter and emergency response vehicles, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.
