Story
The money raised from this event will go directly towards a new Retreat Day Centre for rough sleepers. Which opened at the start of July and it is a safe place for rough sleepers to come in the day time for food, beds, laundry, showers, fresh clothes and support - they have a medical clinic in there once a week, a podiatry clinic, a DWP drop in service, an opticians and council housing officers attend as well for drop in sessions.
The first few weeks have been exceptionally busy and it is certainly meeting a need in the city that wasn't being met before. The new centre costs £48,000 a year to run and they rely purely on donations and gifts.
