Story
The Story- Why am I doing this? My son was born 10 weeks early in Basingstoke, weighing just 1lb 14oz. The following day he was transferred to John Radcliffe hospital for extra support and help. A week later he was transferred to Queen Alexandra Hospital, where he spent 5 weeks in the intensive care unit. Following that, he was then transferred back to Basingstoke hospital, where he spent another 5 weeks developing and growing until he was ready to come home on his due date of 16th September. Ché received so much specialist care from the dedicated staff and benefited from the specialist neonatal equipment without which, our little boy may not have made it through. It’s key that we make sure every hospital has this equipment and has the required amount of equipment needed to treat every baby. Every baby deserves the best possible start in life.
The Challenge- I am part taking in a 24-hour tennis challenge at New Life's annual SPORTathon event, hosted by David Lloyd Newbury. We will be playing 24 matches in 24 hours.
The Charity-We’re trying to raise £500 for New Life Special Care Babies. The charity does a fantastic job in supplying much-needed equipment for neonatal units across the UK giving more premature babies the best possible start in life. The work Trevor (founder of New Life) has done throughout the years is amazing, he has helped so many people including my family.
Thank you for taking the time to read and any donation amount would be appreciated massively. You would be helping so many babies in the future, and giving them the best possible start. Thank you ❤️
