In 2025, I have decided to push myself & attempt, for the first time, to run my first ultra marathon. Running 50km on Saturday 12th April around Windsor.......I don't know, maybe it's a midlife crisis or something.

Most people who know me would expect my chosen cause to be about wildlife or the environment in some way however this time, it's not. Over the last 14 months, my heart has been broken by the stories I've read & images/videos I have seen taking place in Palestine to Palestinians. Images that will never leave my brain & moments that just make me sink.

This is why I have chosen MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) as my chosen charity to run for next year. The other reason is, social & humanitarian justice goes hand in hand with climate/biodiversity justice. They are mutually exclusive. So while I did say that this charity is not about wildlife, in some ways, it kind of is. If we don't have the ability to show care, empathy & offer help for our fellow humans, wherever they live, then there is no way we are able to offer the same things to our wild kin & our environment.

MAP are an incredible charity that works for a future where every Palestinian has access to a comprehensive, effective & locally-led system of healthcare, & the full realisation of their rights to health and dignity. To achieve this, MAP work in collaboration with Palestinian communities & trusted local partners to answer a wide range of health & social needs, from providing vital medical aid in emergencies, to supporting the development of better health services for the long term.

Whatever you are able to give towards this fundraiser is hugely appreciated not just by me, but by MAP & the people of Palestine.
