Story
Powered by faith, hope, charity, a reasonable degree of training - and held together in various places by rock tape, we are taking on our first ultra run challenge as women of a 'certain age'!
We believe age is no barrier to taking on new challenges but sadly, one of the greatest challenges we have faced, or are continuing to face, is losing our beloved Mums to the cruel disease that is Alzheimer's.
It's hard to overstate the devastation that Alzheimer's causes to the person suffering as well as to the family and loved ones who care for them as they slowly slip away from the person you knew and loved so well.
We are raising money for the Alzheimer's Society in memory and support of Gloria Dodd (Ruth's Mum) and Pam Shreeve (Rachael's Mum) and in recognition and thanks for the huge amount of diligent care and love given by our Dads, Harry Dodd and Paul Shreeve in looking after their wives.
The Pennine 39 ultra run follows a route of wild trails, far horizons and majestic scenery, following what is arguably the most stunning section of the Pennine Way along the backbone of England.
We'll do our best! If you could support us with a little donation, that will spur us on to get it done.
Thank you xx
