Story

This fundraiser supports the World Encephalitis Day (WED) Fund 2025!

Moore Barlow will be hosting bake sales on 18 and 20 February in our Southampton and Richmond offices, to raise funds towards this important cause.

Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain, caused by either an infection or the immune system attacking the brain in error. Worldwide, three people every minute are diagnosed. Encephalitis is a thief. Depending on the cause, even with treatment, up to 4 in 10 people affected will die. For the families of those who survive it often robs them of the person they once knew - stealing their capacity to remember and cognitive abilities we all generally take for granted.

On World Encephalitis Day 2025, Encephalitis International is launching the World Encephalitis Day (WED) Fund. This aims to raise £50,000, dedicated to awareness raising, research and support activities guided by their work with the World Health Organization - towards better diagnostics, treatment and after-care of those affected by encephalitis globally.
