Story
This July I will be taking on the Swim 10 Miles challenge for Breast Cancer Now!
The challenge is to swim 10 miles throughout the month of July and all the money raised will go towards helping Breast Cancer Now achieving their vision of a world where by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live, and be supported to live well.
I was diagnosed June 2022 during a routine mamogramme ( aged 65), although a huge shock, I should have been expecting it as mum was diagnosed at 57 ( she is now 91!) And younger sister diagnosed at 50. After treatment I have been given the all clear and apart from yearly mamogrammes and Tamoxafen - no issues or side effects. I feel very lucky. I raised money last year walking 100 miles in Oct and dyed my hair pink!! This was really out of my comfort zone but everyone loved it! So now I'm swimming which is my go to exercise so I hope I smash it.
This is going to push me, at the moment I swim on average 30 lengths 2/4 times a week but I am going to have to swim a total of at least 640 lengths which is = to at least 32 lengths 5 x per week so no pressure then!
Thank you so much for your support! 🤩🎀🎀
