Story
590 million people across sub-Saharan Africa live without electricity. Their only option is kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into the earth’s atmosphere. But with the flick of a switch, we can change that.
SolarAid works with communities to provide sustainable solar lights which are a win for people and the planet. They save families money, help children do their homework at night, and eliminate indoor air pollution.
SolarAid does charity differently. They train communities and create a local market for solar - providing a self sustaining solution. Trade not aid!
Tash helped raise money for SolarAid for many years, and they really are a brilliant charity that are very close to the communities they help.
