I am looking to raise important funds for Action Cancer. With your help and support, my trek in India will raise over £4k for the charity. The money will go towards support and detection services for the people of Northern Ireland.

I will also be completing this challenge in memory of my mum who sadly passed 20 years ago due to cancer.

My challenge begins in Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan Community are situated – in the heart of the world’s highest mountain range. This will be my start point before setting off on foot to explore the stunning region of North India, through the foothills of the Indian Himalayas.

My 5 day trek takes me through the Kingdom of Gaddi – a semi nomadic race who spend months wandering the high passes with their cattle. With views of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range, my journey will take me through rhododendron forests, passing Hindu settlements and Buddhist monasteries.

This will be one of the most challenging physical challenge I have ever done and I am looking forward to it. Although I am not so sure my body is thinking the same!
