Running Ronny for King's College Hospital Charity

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
There's countless reasons I am running for Kings College Hospital, but here's a few...
As well as being my local hospital, on a personal level KCH was instrumental in saving our newborn Finley's life at birth. After a rapid birth at PRU (also part of the KCH group) he arrived unable to breathe. Resuscitated and intubated, we were immediately rushed to KCH's NICU - where aided by their expert care, kindness and attention he recovered swiftly after 2 weeks. Although a short time in Finn's life and in comparison to others' experiences, that short time made his life so and something we are eternally grateful for.
Shortly after this, our little pal Olive (3) also passed through KCH with a brain tumor from which she has almost fully recovered from - learning to eat, walk and talk again, a total rockstar. I will be running alongside Olives mum, Claire (https://www.justgiving.com/page/claire-hamblen-1727869846090), whom inspired me to run the LLHM. Please visit her page for more on Olive's story and to cheer Claire on!
These are just a few experiences in the countless children's lives KCH has saved. Passing through you hear other people's stories never knowing their outcome, so anything that can help KCH's continued care is completely invaluable.
