Story

The Helping-Hand Appeal is an annual collaboration between the Family Ministries Unit and International Development UK within the Salvation Army. In 2024, it focuses on Anti-Trafficking, working with communities to raise awareness and support survivors.

Human trafficking is a horrific crime that targets vulnerable individuals, offering false promises of safety and opportunity. Many are lured into a life of exploitation, separated from their families and communities. This year, I am participating in The Salvation Army's Helping-Hand Appeal to help bring awareness and raise funds to support survivors of human trafficking.

The 2024 Helping-Hand Appeal focuses on Anti-Trafficking, working alongside communities to:

Prevent trafficking through education and awareness. Protect vulnerable individuals. Partner with local and global organisations to bring an end to trafficking.

To support this cause, I have committed to running or walking 500km (approximately 310 miles) – up to December, symbolically walking a day in the shoes of trafficking survivors. I will start the challenge with a run in Slovenia on 21 September 2024.Through this challenge, I hope to raise funds and spread awareness about the devastating impact of trafficking and how together, we can make a difference.

Every donation you make will go towards supporting future Anti-Trafficking projects by The Salvation Army, helping them provide essential resources to those most in need.
