Running for Murph - raising money in support of Cruse Bereavement Support

Hastings Half Marathon · 23 March 2025
My dad Martin Walczak always stayed active throughout his life. Any sport, any activity, any game or hobby - he just loved the outdoors, and loved the feeling of adventure.
If I said to him this time last year that I was going to run a Half Marathon, Murph would have laughed, for sure, but I know he'd have loved to have seen me try.
In March of last year, after suffering a stroke due to being the victim of a road traffic incident, Murph was taken away from us aged 65. He had years of life and adventure left in him. And now it's down to me to live out these adventures in his memory.
I'm running the Hastings Half Marathon 2025 in his memory, and I will be fundraising for Cruse Bereavement Support to mark this occasion. With the loss of not just my Dad, but of my dear Grandma Barbara and my Uncle Philip too, I know only too well the support and care that people need to work through their grief.
Any amount of money you can donate would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can't donate, please share this page with anybody you might know who would be interested in donating; it makes a lot of difference.
Wish me luck; I'm gonna need it.
