Story
What's the point in running 21.1km if not for a good cause, hey!
Ness and I will be running the Stratford half marathon in April in aid of research for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at the University of Sheffield.
MND is a terminal condition. It affects the brain and nerves and is nearly always fatal. In the UK alone, 1 in every 300 people in the UK will develop MND in their lifetime. But there's hope. The University of Sheffield has world leading MND researchers working tirelessly to find a cure for this debilitating disease.
Anyone whose life has been affected by this cruel disease knows the extent to which it can rob a person of the life they had.
Our amazing family friend, Caroline, has been dealing with this disease for over 2 years. Her courage, determination and sheer resilience has inspired us to raise as much as possible to try and discover more about this disease. It is quite difficult to express how proud we are of not only her, but also her family and friends in their unwavering support.
Despite more awareness being raised in recent years by the likes of Doddie Weir, Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield, the understanding and ability to treat MND remains restricted.
Please help us, in anyway you can, work towards a world without Motor Neurone Disease!
Thank you!
