We Fight chest, heart & stroke illnesses to Improve the lives of people across NI

Story

My name is Anthony Byrne and in May I will be running the Belfast marathon, in full firefighting kit, in memory of Kurtis Robinson with Money raised going to Northern Ireland chest, heart & stroke foundation.

Kurtis was a firefighter based at Knock Fire Station in East Belfast. He suffered from an issue with his kidneys, which led to a heart attack in October 2023. After going into heart failure, Kurtis was induced into a coma in January 2024 but tragically passed away in February 2024.

In memory of Kurtis, a Great Friend too many, A Colleague and Fellow Firefighter, I will be running the Belfast Marathon on May 4th 2025, in my Full Firefighting Kit while carrying the BA Set on my back.

Kurtis put up one hell of a fight and with every step of this 26.2 mile challenge I’ll have Kurtis, his family especially Wife Natalie and Son Benny- & colleagues @ Knock Station and throughout the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service in my thoughts.
