Story
I’m raising money for the incredible work of Addenbrookes Charitable trust (ACT)
Our twin boys were treated at the Rosie hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Sadly we lost our precious twin 2, Arlo, but without the funds and support raised by ACT neither would have had the chance of survival.
Born at 23 Weeks in Colchester they were not able to be cared for there and needed urgent transport to the Rosie for a higher level intensive care. This was provided by the PANDR team (paediatric and neonatal decision and retrieval), in specialised paediatric intensive care ambulances - funded by ACT.
My husband and I stayed at the hospital in accommodation provided by the sick children’s trust who also receive vital funding from ACT. This accommodation was a lifeline for us as we lived over an hour away from the hospital and Avi’s condition was critical and ever changing.
We owe everything to this fantastic hospital and hope we can raise back just a percentage of the funds that have been used to support our family.
For those that know me, running is not easy for me and the most I have ever run is 10k so this will for sure be a challenge and I promise to put my all into training and get across that finish line! If Avi can overcome all he has done, I can do this!
Thank you for your support
Lots of Love
