Story

Rycroft Alport Foster was born in February 2022. His rare genetic condition, SDS, meant that he had to have a stem cell transplant shortly after his first birthday.

His treatment was a success but he remained very vulnerable. He developed an infection which even his amazing doctors and nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital were unable to cure. He died in the arms of his mother and father, Catherine and Andrew, in the Rainbow Room of the PICU, aged just 16 months.

Andrew and his friend Anthony have co-written an article about a sport they both love, rugby league, and how the last thirty years might have gone had some different decisions been taken. They would love for anyone who enjoyed the article to chip in. And even if you didn't, maybe throw a few quid in anyway :)

All proceeds go to SDS UK, the charity to support people with this life-threatening condition and their families.

Help remember Rycroft the best way possible, by making sure that other children like him get home to their families, happy and healthy.
