Story
Forces Children Scotland directly/indirectly supports over 13,000 children and young people from armed forces and veteran families across Scotland.
As a strengths-based organisation, the charity works directly with beneficiaries to co-produce projects, services, and campaigns to realise its vision of making Scotland a place where all children & young people from armed forces communities can feel heard, understood, supported, and empowered to overcome unique challenges, dream big and pursue positive futures.
Forces Children Scotland delivers face-to-face and digital mental health & wellbeing services to help children and young people understand many topics better and to adopt effective coping strategies. The charity runs youth forums, and residential experiences across Scotland to reduce isolation and loneliness, build confidence, develop new skills, and forge new friendships. The organisation can provide financial help for young carers, students, and families to cover many of life’s essentials.
Moreover, Forces Children Scotland supports children and young people in standing up for their rights and amplifying their lived experiences to encourage policymakers to adopt a children’s rights approach to achieve meaningful change. Better still, the charity works with educators, professionals, and decision-makers to enhance their understanding and practice to meet the unique support needs of this community through our accredited CPD modules and much more.
