Story
This year I will be running my first organised race, the Conwy Half Marathon on Sunday 19th November, and I am hoping to raise some vital funds for RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens as I do this.
This charity is a cruelty case boarding centre, meaning that cats and dogs in their care have been rescued from abuse and neglect by RSPCA inspectors. They help the animals to recover by treating their injuries and giving them love and stability. When it is decided by law that the animal will be removed from the care of their previous owners, they can then also be adopted when they are ready, giving them a second chance at the happy life and love they deserve.
I have seen first hand how committed and caring the staff and volunteers at this branch are through my experience of cat fostering with them this year. It truly comes across how invested they are in the wellbeing of the animals in their care, answering questions at all hours, knowing the quirks of all the animals in their care, with some of them fostering the animals in their homes too.
I would love to raise some funds for the cats and dogs boarding at the centre with them, as while they receive some limited funding from the national RSPCA charity, they mainly rely on donations from the public and businesses to keep their centre open. If you are able to donate, I know it would be money well spent on the care and recovery of animals rescued from abuse and neglect. I am hoping to double any donations up to £350 too, through matched funding from my employer.
I know times are tough so if you can't donate, I totally understand and instead could you share this fundraiser to reach others? Or on the other hand if you are able to donate more, perhaps you or your business could consider sponsoring a pen with the charity monthly? Whatever your situation, thank you for considering this worthy cause.
