Roxanne's fundraiser for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity

Climbing Mount Everest Basecamp · 10 May 2025
As you all know we lost our dad to cancer 2 years ago. He was truly one of a kind. In his younger years, he liked to live life on edge. I suppose this is where I get it from.
Without any thought, I woke up one morning and fancied a challenge so I decided why not trek Mount Everest BaseCamp and what an honour it is to do it in my dad's memory.
This will be so physically challenging and mentally challenging. I’m bricking it but super excited at the same time. However, most importantly I hope to raise money for The Cove. They are close to my heart as they supported my dad & also support people in Cornwall and Isle Of Scilly who are currently suffering with cancer! They have such an important role in people’s time of need! I would love nothing more to give back to a charity that offers so much support to those at there most vulnerable times of there live.
Please donate no matter how big or small. And just know we are making a difference together.
Let the training commence
Wish me luck.
Roxie.
Money donated to The Cove fund is for the benefit of patients, volunteers and staff who visit and work in The Cove. We can purchase additional items to make patient and visitors more comfortable,
- Cushions because patients wanted some additional support and comfort whilst in the waiting area and during appointments.
- A highchair because parents of young children whose mums or dads are having treatment bring the children in to the Centre to be away from the business of a clinical setting.
- Treadmill and exercise equipment for the new Physiotherapy Service to help keep patients active and build their strength and fitness both during and after treatment.
- Electric fans to ensure the comfort of patients during hot weather or for those who may be experiencing hot flushes due to hormonal treatments.
In addition, it enables staff and volunteers to attend specialist courses in order to keep up to date with current practice and extend their existing skills.
