Story
In May I took part in a bike ride in Holland, organised by the Amos Trust, an organisation dedicated to striving for justice and hope for the forgotten, including the suffering of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. Taking part in this, made me realise that I wanted to do something, however small, to help these communities feel less alone.
I am therefore taking part in the 100km in July challenge for Medical Aid for Palestinians to help raise funds to ensure that vital medical help can reach those in need. Under the illegal occupation, the military restrict freedom of movement, and it is difficult for patients to cross the barriers and access treatment, and likewise for medical professionals and equipment to reach those in need.
MAP’s teams work to develop sustainable, Palestinian-led healthcare services to ensure fair access for all Palestinians, particularly those who are most marginalised, such as children, women, and those with disabilities and mental health issues.
