Story

In 2019 my twin boys, Ted and Rex were born at 25 weeks, spending 111 days in NICU, needing specialist treatment night and day across the 3 Nottinghamshire hospitals. These were the darkest days of my life, not knowing if they would survive each day.

Bliss were there for my boys, my wife and I throughout this period supporting us and it is something we will never forget.

From January 2024, I will be taking part in 12 challenges over 12 months to raise money for Bliss.

The 12 challenges are:

January 2024: Sit on every seat (30,445) in the City Ground - Jan 17th and 18th - with Jason Lee. - FIRST CHALLENGE DONE!

February 2024: Bike ride from City Ground to Villa Park prior to Forest playing Villa - 24th Feb - SECOND CHALLENGE DONE!!

March 2024: Waxing my legs at Zen Beauty - 23rd March

April 2024: London Marathon - April 21st

May 2024: Leaden Boot Challenge (24 mile hike) - May 19th with Mark Crossley

June 2024: 100 press ups a day for 1 month

July 2024: Tough Mudder - July 6th

August 2024: Charity car wash at work - 7th August

September 2024: Robin Hood Half Marathon - 29th September

October 2024: 50-mile bike ride from my house to City Hospital, to Kings Mill to QMC and then home, the same route the boys took when they were ill - 20th October

November 2024: Charity Ball - November 9th at Derek Randall Suite, Trent Bridge

December 2024: Volunteering at City Hospital NICU unit where I will also donate the money raised and bring gifts to the families and babies in NICU.

I have managed to rope in a few people to join me on the challenges:

Jason Lee - Ex Nottm Forest Striker

Mark Crossley - Ex Nottm Forest Keeper

Simon Fotheringham - Commercial Sales Manager

Will D'Hooghe - Marketing and Fan Engagement Manager

If anyone wants to join me in any of the challenges please let me know.

Bliss:

1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist care.

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.

Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.

Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.
