Story
I am fundraising for Kidney Wales to support individuals like my father who battled kidney disease and required dialysis in his later years. Dealing with a chronic illness is already challenging, and Kidney Wales steps in to provide emergency financial aid, along with funding crucial research aimed at improving the lives of kidney disease patients.
In Wales, there are 93,722 diagnosed with Kidney Disease, and 3,297 of them are undergoing renal replacement therapy, which includes dialysis, transplant, or palliative care. Chronic Kidney Disease is a lifelong and life-threatening condition with no cure, but Kidney Wales offers vital support by providing information, advice, emergency financial aid, education, awareness activities, and targeted care for physical and mental well-being.
Additionally, they fund research that directly benefits Welsh kidney patients. It's important to note that Kidney Wales operates solely on the generosity of supporters as they do not receive any government funding. Every contribution will make a significant impact on the lives of patients and families affected by kidney disease in Wales.
