For those of you that perhaps don't know what I actually do for a living .... for the last 16 years I've been helping run and grow a company called Lucion. Amongst many other things, Lucion is perhaps best known for being the UK's leading providing of asbestos management services.

In the UK, over 2,700 per year are diagnosed with mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that affects the mesothelium (the thin membrane lining the inner surface of the chest wall). Exposure to asbestos is responsible for up to 9 out of 10 mesothelioma cases.

So I'm running the Great North Run to raise money for Mesothelioma UK, an amazing charity that supports people with mesothelioma to live better and live longer and to prevent mesothelioma happening to future generations.
