Story
Asking for money, or for people’s help are two things I find hard to do….add running a marathon to that list and that’s three…
But somewhere along the line I put my name in the hat to run the London Marathon and I came up trumps. So I’m running for Shelter, to help their work to defend the right to a safe home, because let’s face it, a home defines us.
This marathon malarkey suddenly seems like a good idea.
Running gives you time to think, and it struck me that having somewhere to call your own, a foundation to build on, a sanctuary - that’s crucial to how you live and what you become - and it should be a basic right. So I’m going to run it, and to do so, I’ve got to do the other two things that I’m not comfortable with….ask for your time and some money…please🙏
You can stuff some money through my letterbox, send a comical oversized cheque or use the link below. If you do, I’d be so grateful and it means that I won’t bake cakes and ask you to buy them, which frankly no one wants (or can digest!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you from someone well and truly out of their comfort zone.
