Story
Hello friends, family and kind supporters,
As many may know, I've been having a bit of a tough few years health wise but since earlier this year, new medication has really given me my energy back and my ability to enjoy living again. I've managed to get back in to running and have chosen to embark on a new challenge...
… I'm really excited to share that I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 13th October 2024. It is my first half marathon (gulp!) and I will be running in support of Axel's Fund raising money for The Brompton Fountain, a children's charity who support young people who are under the care of the Royal Brompton Hospital. I've never run this distance before and the training has already been humbling!
Axel’s Fund was set up by my friends Mike and Jean in memory of their beautiful son Axel who sadly passed away early this year. The fund was set up to support the work that the Royal Brompton Hospital do and to buy some new equipment in Axel’s memory, primarily a PICU bed for babies. Mike and Jean speak of the care and compassion they and Axel’s older brother, Ragnar, received from the hospital and I want to support them give something back and for Axel’s memory to go on looking after babies and families who now find themselves in need of that specialist care that the Royal Brompton give. How You Can Help
1. Donate: Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a huge difference. You can donate directly through my fundraising page.
2. Share: Spread the word about Axel’s Fund and my half marathon challenge. The more people who know, the more support we can gather.
3. Cheer Me On: If you’re in London on race day, come out and cheer! Your encouragement will be a huge boost.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my fundraising efforts and for all your support. I will be holding Axel and his family in my heart to keep me going through all the training and then to get me to the end of 13.1miles.
Keep me running, Axel!
